Here’s my review of the game, feel welcome to
comment on it.
Genre - Generally I like
physics based puzzle games, but while the genre is
one of my favorites, this game is not.
Graphics - One of the major flaws of this game
is it’s graphics, and for me personally it ruined
a lot of the experience. These days a developer
should choose one of two options, either create
cool graphics using the help of a professional
graphic designer, or use really simple graphics
that don’t attract too much attention. This set of
graphics is neither, it doesn’t look good, but it
seems like the developer didn’t notice that.
Sounds - The sounds are pretty decent, but for
me they were a little too childish. Maybe this
game is intended primarily for little kids, but I
think it could/should have been designed to
attract players a little older than 12.
Game
play - While my first impression of the game
wasn’t a great one mainly because of the graphics
and the sounds, the game play is actually quite
likable, though a bit easy. I suppose it fits the
overall theme of the game which seems to be
targeting kids, but I feel the developer could
have done more with this, I do like the concept. I
think adding achievements or medals for finishing
levels with different scores to add some challenge
to the game.
Conclusion - If you’re a kid
then it’s a sweet game, otherwise, it’s a wasted
concept.
Score - 7/10
Hi everyone, I really enjoyed this great game so
I've decided to write a small review for it,
hope you enjoy it.
I'll start off by
saying that even though this game is a sequel, and
the concept hasn't changed much from the
original, it doesn't take anything from the
game or it's fun game play.
Graphics -
The graphics are much improved and add some real
style to the game, the changing backgrounds are
great and the dying animations are truly awesome.
I love the physics of the game, especially the way
the bodies react to the bullets, and in general, I
must say everything looks very polished.
Sounds - I love the Jazzy soundtrack, although
it can get a little annoying after a while, but I
suppose not many flash games can manage otherwise,
as the game size limit doesn't allow for a
much longer loop. The SFX are good enough, nothing
amazing there, maybe they could have done some
more with this, considering the whole gory style
of the game.
Game play - The game play
hasn't changed at all from the original, at
least as far as I could see. Even though this
isn't a let down, since it's still very
enjoyable, it would be interesting to see some new
features, for example, upgraded weapons or even
just a visualized trajectory to help aim
better.
Level design - The difficulty curve
is great, it starts off pretty easy and gets
challenging as you go, without being frustrating.
There are 50 levels so the game provides a long
and enjoyable break from work/school, it took me
over an hour to finish the game. One really cool
thing I love about this game, and it's
predecessor, is the level editor, which gives the
game a whole new dimension, as you're not
limited to playing levels, you can also create
them and share with your friends.
Re-playability - As with most games in this
genre, once you finish them you're not likely
to keep playing them. Ricochet Kills 2 is not
exception to the rule, even though it does try to
incentivize you to try and finish each level with
fewer shots, it didn't work for me.
Conclusion - It's not original, but it's
really fun, anyone who likes skill games will
likely enjoy this.
Score - 8/10
